India is set to become the world’s youngest country in 2020 with 64 per cent of its population in the working age group. In the next 20 years, it will add another 480 million people to its existing workforce of 430 million The condition is worse in rural areas (where 60% of Indian youth lives) with unemployment rate among rural graduates is 37% and which is more when compared to urban unemployment rate-25%.
A person in an urban area has a 93 per cent greater chance of acquiring training than someone in a rural area. This is because rural graduates are mostly first generation college goers. They often lack awareness about various opportunities, cannot access the right resources, do not have the skills to fit into the market.
-Employment Livelihoods Skills, a report published by IRIS Knowledge Foundation in collaboration with UN-HABITAT .
We at Bodhi Tree Skills, tries to solve this problem. Our aim is to make graduates aware of the opportunities, to give courage to pursue their passion, to guide them to reach their potentials and to help them to live an empowered life.
Bodhi Tree Skills endeavors to equip rural college graduates with professional skills in order to empower them to explore and choose best career option-either joining workforce or pursuing higher education.
To bridge this gap of lack of professional and leadership skills, Bodhi Tree Skills will provide certified training on:
* Interview skills
* Life skills
* Personality development
* Business communication
* Career counselling to college students from rural and semi urban areas.
We envision making these rural college graduates more employable and widening their horizon of available opportunities.
